Metro (or Select) is a
level of soccer between recreational and competitive.
The league offers an environment for dedicated and
skilled players to develop and play. Metro is classified
as a Class III youth soccer league. (Recreational teams
are Class IV. Competitive teams are Class I.) Metro
teams are typically stronger than even ‘A’ division
recreation teams.
In Metro league play, you may play
teams from Fairfield to El Dorado Hills to Elk Grove to
Roseville. The greatest difference between recreation
and select is the opportunity for tournament play.
Tournaments can give kids a chance to play in 20-35
games a year, instead of just 10.
